Avoid Heat Styling Damage to Your Hair

To avoid heat styling damage follow these tips:

  1. After applying heat to your hair wait a longer time period before applying heat to your hair again, perhaps limit using  a blow dryer or flat iron to only once every two to three weeks, the less heat comes in contact with your hair the better it is for your hair’s health.
  2. Before blow drying your hair apply a heat protectant such as Jane Carter Solution’s Leave in Conditioner or TRESemme’s Heat Tamer Spray.
  3. Instead of putting your blow dryer on its highest setting try using it on its medium or low setting.
  4. While using a curling iron, flat iron, or hot comb do not “grease” your hair or heavily spritz it, this can cause your hair to sizzle and burn.
  5. After heat styling lightly apply a moisturizer or oil to your hair
  6. Avoid everyday use of heat styling tools, in most cases this will surely lead to breakage, split ends, and unhealthy hair.
