Avoid Heat Styling Damage to Your Hair
To avoid heat styling damage follow these tips:
- After applying heat to your hair wait a longer time period before applying heat to your hair again, perhaps limit using a blow dryer or flat iron to only once every two to three weeks, the less heat comes in contact with your hair the better it is for your hair’s health.
- Before blow drying your hair apply a heat protectant such as Jane Carter Solution’s Leave in Conditioner or TRESemme’s Heat Tamer Spray.
- Instead of putting your blow dryer on its highest setting try using it on its medium or low setting.
- While using a curling iron, flat iron, or hot comb do not “grease” your hair or heavily spritz it, this can cause your hair to sizzle and burn.
- After heat styling lightly apply a moisturizer or oil to your hair
- Avoid everyday use of heat styling tools, in most cases this will surely lead to breakage, split ends, and unhealthy hair.
