Black Face: Edgy or Offensive?

If so many people were offended by a Black woman doing a photo shoot with a “black face”, what do people think of a white woman with dark skin. Is it edgy fashion photography or offensive?  For me I would have to say it is beautiful. As long as the photography is not demeaning to anyone, why should it matter, when it clearly is celebrating African Beauty. If you compare it to the black face minstrels of the past, they don’t even come close.

  • Me says:

For writer or commentor of tht piece, ur ignorant and (assuming ur blk) unculteralized, and ensensativ or without knowledge of the walk of the blk ppl. Since when should tht shit be exceptable in any culture tht has had millenial sufferage impounded to their being and against their will, ur easy and weak minded exceptance of the obvious effort of the white productionist to further disinclude the “the blk women” from one of the most lucrative positions for women period is appalling and offensive; if a white women can get away with it now wht will they need of “blk women” in the future.

Ur an ostrich, please barrie ur head in the shame of ur haughty happiness for ur pride of tht ugly, offensive statement.

    • But I am not ashamed, it’s my opinion just like you have yours, so no need to (“barrie”) bury my head. To me this doesn’t even compare to the demeaning minstrels that had black people looking like buffoons. You have your right to feel offended by it, but I could personally care less.

I don’t think their goal was to insult blacks, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken the time to make her look stylish, they would have made her look foolish. Their goal was to make money, end of story.
