Your Split Ends Are Probably Ruining Your Style

It happens to the best of us. No matter how hard we try, we just can’t seem to get our hair to work with us. We rigidly follow all the rules and steps using tutorials as our guide yet the outcome is still lack luster. There’s something however, that you may be underestimating that is having a huge effect on how your styles are turning out…the ends of your hair.

When the ends of your hair are badly damaged it will impact your style results. Especially if you enjoy styles like twist outs, braids outs, wash and go’s or pretty much any style where the ends of your hair are exposed split ends do destroy your look. Looking to achieve some juicy plump two strand twists? Forget it, if your ends are damaged.

Unfortunately the only way to fix this issue is to trim your hair and depending on the extent of the damage you may need to cut your hair. Don’t worry! Length is not everything. There’s no sense in holding onto length just for the sake of length.

If you are unsure of whether or not you should trim your hair see a professional and have them evaluate. Once you remove the damage you are going to see a difference in the fullness of your hair, it will be easier to style and most importantly it will improve the health of your hair.

Your twist outs may have been trash before cutting your hair, but wait until you see the transformation once you let go of those damaged ends. Remember, the ends of the hair will make or break a style like this and getting that perfect twirl at your ends will be much easier when they are healthy.

Prevent split ends from happening in the first place by:

  • Making sure you are detangling properly
  • Wearing protective styles to reduce how often you have to manipulate your hair
  • Giving your ends plenty of love when you moisturize and condition
  • Trimming 1/2 inch of hair on a regular basis, every 3 to 4 months is a good place to start
