The New Year is a reminder that we only have one life and it makes us often wonder, are we living our best life? Have we met our goals?
If you have not met the goals that you set for yourself or you are just not where you expected to be in life that’s okay. Please don’t let it get you down, sis!
You can fall but you can rise too.
We often see other people’s success and sometimes it can even make us a little envious. What we often miss or don’t know about is the journey it took for them to get where they are.
I really enjoyed hearing about Dawn Fitch of Pooka Pure and Simple’s journey this past year at Curl Prep’s Madam CJ Walker Business Workshop.
She runs Pooka Pure and Simple full time. However, she did have a dip in which she did return to work outside of her passion for two years (which I can definitely relate to).
During this workshop people were enamored by her numerous magazine features and successful business for sure. However, she made sure to remind people of the story before success like her: autoimmune disease and the ups and downs of her business.
If you are breathing you have the power to make the changes you want to make.
This new and exciting chapter is not the time to make promises or resolutions to ourselves that we know we are not going to keep. It’s time for commitment.
Often times what keeps us from sticking to what we want to accomplish is going too hard too fast. Make little commitments that you know you can keep and work up to big ones.
The key to keeping your commitment is to start with small steps and set small goals.
Use tools like apps, calendars, and planners to set date for the small goals that you set. This will help to hold yourself accountable.
You can do whatever it is you put your mind to.
